At the end of 2024, Stara Zagora will host the sixth edition of the Balkan Quadrennial of Painting "Myths and Legends of My People" - one of the most significant events in the field of fine arts in Southeastern Europe.
Since 2004, when it was officially launched, the Quadrennial has become an emblematic forum which every four years attracts over 250 artists from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, as well as Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Italy, Brazil, Japan, and many other countries. The event is open to painters from all corners of the world who adhere to its fundamental provisions.

В края на 2024 г. Стара Загора отново ще бъде домакин на шестото издание на Балканското квадринале на живописта „Митовете и легендите на моя народ“ – едно от най-значимите събития в сферата на изобразителното изкуство в Югоизточна Европа.

От 2004 г., когато е поставено началото му, Квадриналето се превръща в емблематичен форум, събиращ на всеки четири години над 250 художници от България, Гърция, Румъния, Турция, както и от Литва, Германия, Полша, Латвия, Чехия, Италия, Бразилия, Япония и много други страни. Статутът на събитието е отворен за участие на живописци от всички държави, които приемат условията му.

In each of its five editions (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020), the Balkan Quadrennial of Painting has awarded a grand prize, an award of Stara Zagora Municipality, as well as six others, bearing the names of our partners who support our event with their donation to the award fund. According to the regulations, all distinguished works will join the collection of the Fine Arts Gallery of Stara Zagora.
